StereoWise: Amplifier - Information
There are hundreds of integrated stereo amplifiers for sale, from around € 250,- t / m € 100.000,- You can make it as crazy as jou want. On all my pages i show all amplifiers that have at least 2 x 100 Watt / 8 Ohm. don't forget that there ia also quite a lot for sale under this 100 Watts. Now specifications do not always mean something because sometimes different measurements are used. An important fact remains and it is not easy to explain that there must be a good match between amplifier and loudspeaker for the Best Sound. What is nice is that you decide in the end, Your Ears do not lie to you.
Class A : In the Audio - Hifi amplifiers there are a number of categories, the most famous being Class A. You do not to have doubt it, but all convinced Audiophiles think this is the purest form of amplification. There are some things you should pay attention to as an example. Class A amplifier that you forget to switch off consumes as much as with heavy load. Class A is also inefficient. With class A you often see different output powers than with the traditional class AB. With Tube ( valve ) amplifiers you generally come across many class A amplifiers. Below the Air Tight ATM -300 R Stereo Power Amplifier power output 9W + 9W
Class A / AB : Hans Ole Vitus - is the non-composer founder of Vitus Audio and he is relentless in his pursuit of the best possible sound. Nothing should get in the way of the original sound of recording; It's all about Music. The result is the superlative in Integrated Amplifiers: The Masterpiece MP I 201
2 x 700 W / Class AB - 1st 25 W / Class A - 8 Ohm - intelligient class A bias
2 x 1400 W / Class AB - 1st 50 W / Class A - 4 Ohm - intelligient class A bias
Class D : It has been around for quite some time now and you can see it more and more Integrated Amplifiers with Class D. Some advantages of these amplifiers are the possibility of a small compact construction, the great power they can give and the low heat development, they are also very efficinet with an efficiency of more than 90 %. Class D and the amplifiers working completely in the digital domain will only get better in the future, A very nice example of this is GATO from Denmark.
The Reference in Class D amplification, the GATO with the NPM streaming module is an absolute killer among the one box solution in the market today. What do you think of 2 x 400 W / 8 Ohm - 2 x 800 W / 8 Ohm ! ( GATO Dia S 400 NPM )
With this Stereo Power Amplifier Class A - i was thinking about one movie i have seen - The Beastmaster
There are projects that contradict conventions and redefine striving for perfection. These attempts push the boundaries of what is thought to be possible.
The weight of this amplifier is 161,0 kg and the granite base is 39,0 kg, That will be a problem for a Burglar to steele it Continuos power Each channel is 900 Watt - into 8 / 4 / 2 Ohm Bias operation is Class A to full rated output power. Peak power Each channel is 1000 Watt - into 8 Ohm - 1650 Watt / 4 Ohm and 2000 Watt / 2 Ohm
The secret's is out, Some of the top rated Audiophile amplifiers on the Planet are now Class D design ( Stereo Power Amplifier ) Class D amplifiers - has gained an impressive following in the Audio Industry. Many High End brands are embracing this technology. They are compact, light weight and 88 % efficient resulting in very low heat dissipation. No fans no external heat sinks. Transparancy and Dynamic power combine for a sense of realism that appeals to Solid State and Tube listeners. Voice and Musical instruments sounds like they are in your room.
Perfection in Class D amplification ! - D.Sonic 356 x 89 x 381 mm 8,5 kg - 2 x 1500 Watt / 8 Ohm - 2 x 2200 Watt / 4 Ohm
A long list of technical features sounds impressive but what does any of that mean for sound quality
